Obituary for
Mark William Lauth
COLLINSVILLE- Mark William Lauth, 67, of Collinsville, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Mark was born on November 10, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL. to Martin William and Juanita, nee Harris, Lauth. They preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Dustin “Dusty” William Lauth and his sister, Kathy Feig.
He is survived by his fiancée, Roberta Loyet Barrows of Collinsville; one son, Shawn William Lauth of Collinsville; grandsons, Micah and Brendan Lauth; one sister, Gloria Richardson; niece and nephews, Sue Barrett, Don Bouse, Dennis Bouse and their families; his long-time friend, Dennis Bradley of Collinsville; and many family members on Roberta’s side of the family, who all shared a special bond with Mark.
Following high school, Mark attended Southern Illinois University and then attended a trade school for automotive and diesel mechanics. Mark worked at Granite City Steel, Brink’s, Sam’s Club in Fairview Heights prior to his time working for the United States Post Office in Highland as a rural letter carrier.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Mark enjoyed gardening, especially working with his rose bushes. Mark was a muscle car enthusiast. Learning, working, and collecting cars brought him years of joy and memories. Above all else, he loved his family and the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation: A visitation for Mark will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville.
Service: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
