Cynthia Rivers Harris
Cynthia Rivers Harris went home to be with the Lord on 3/20/17. She was the beloved daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Rivers.
Cynthia grew up in Stamford and graduated from Rippowam High School.Her employment included SNET, Olin Corp and Vista Volunteers. Her family relocated to Edwardsville, IL in 1991. In addition to her love for the Lord, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed nature, sports, cooking, singing, playing the flute and her Birthday Card Ministry. Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years Antonio Harris, brother Ernest Rivers, Jr. CT; children Jonathan Major, Jr. CT, Dawn (Phil) Besssard, CT, Antonia (Rodney) Raglin, IL, Jennifer Harris, IL, Michael (Emily) Harris, IL and Jeffrey Harris, IL; grandchildren Ayana, Jordan, Antonio, Renee, Rayna, Amari, Jonathan, III. and Maya. Other survivors include other relatives and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Elizabeth Rivers. Cynthia’s Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at 1:00pm at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glenn Carbon, IL 62034. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the ceremony at Sunset Hill Cemetery, 50 Fountain Drive, Glenn Carbon, IL 62034.
