John J. Welle
John Joseph Welle, 70, a lifelong resident of Collinsville, Ill., born March 30, 1947, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away unexpectedly at his family home on Brown Ave.
He will be remembered as a man of many talents; John was a patent holding inventor, craftsman, VA Veteran’s Advocate, artist, educator and an Army Man during his lifetime. He loved a good Cardinals game with a dog at his side, lunch with friends and a cold beer.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Wendelin and Wanda, nee Bamba, Welle.
He is survived by his self-professed proudest accomplishments his children, Stacie (Steve) Chase of Naperville, Ill., Sara (Jeremy) Puent of Sarasota, Fl., and Adam (Brittany) Welle of Lebanon, Ill.; along with his grandchildren, Caden, Avery, Olivia, Adler and Gavin. He is additionally survived by his wife Nancy, nee McCracken, whom he married July 17, 1981; sisters, Helen Welle of Belleville, Ill. and Patricia Welle Buttrey of Huntsville, Al.

A memorial gathering will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main, Collinsville, Ill., with the memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
There will be a reception (a party in John’s memory) from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, in the Fishbowl Room at Collinsville KC. The family hopes that those who knew and loved John will join them during game time and to toast the life of John Welle.
